IPL 2018: Bad weather forecast for KKR-RCB match

Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in the city as the cricketers and fans will have their fingers crossed for the marquee IPL clash.
IPL 2018: Bad weather forecast for KKR-RCB match

A cracker of a contest is on the cards when Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore face each other for the first time in IPL 2018 at the iconic Eden Gardens on Sunday.  The last time KKR and RCB met at the Eden Gardens, the latter created a rather forgettable record of scoring the lowest team total of the tournament – 49 all out.

One man KKR would need to watch out for would be Virat Kohli who has been in a beastly form at the top of RCB batting, and he would look to blow away the consistent Kolkata attack, something he has done in his previous outing at the Eden Gardens.

But rain could play spoilsport in Kolkata Knight Riders' opening game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Eden Gardens on Sunday.

On the eve of the game, the practice of both teams was cut short due to rain.

According to Accu Weather, there is an afternoon thunderstorm expected as the temperature is hovering around 32 Degree Celsius. The possibilities of rain in the lead up to the game increase dramatically up to 51% by 6 PM. At the same time, thunderstorms will also arrive which might delay the start of the game as well. The drainage system at the Eden Gardens is, however, the best and there should not be a problem for the game to happen. Even the chances of rain will decrease as the day will wear on. In the month of April, Kolkata usually receives about 60 mm of pre-Monsoon rainfall.

Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in the city as the cricketers and fans will have their fingers crossed for the marquee IPL clash.
