Did Preity Zinta just say she’s happy that Mumbai is out of IPL?

With group stages of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 done and dusted, players and fans are gearing up for playoffs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) have qualified to fight for the IPL 2018 trophy. Defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) were denied a place after suffering losses on the final day of group matches.

In a video that has gone viral on Twitter, Preity Zinta is seen talking to one of the Kings XI Punjab staff members. The video has no audio, but she seems to be saying, "I am just very happy that Mumbai Indians is knocked out. Really happy."

Naturally, the video went viral in no time with some even taking potshots at the actress. Some Twitter users corrected Twitterati saying Preity Zinta was actually saying, “Mumbai Indians knocked off’ instead of “Mumbai is not going to the finals.”

Now how this video is interpreted largely depends on when it was shot. Was it during the KXIP match against CSK or after it?

On Monday, Zinta took to Twitter and issued a clarification on the viral video. "Relax ! Only if Mumbai was “Knocked Out” Punjab would have had a chance of getting to the playoffs but RR was happier we were knocked out by CSK cuz they got to go to the playoffs! When you leave it till the end one has to not just see your wins but other teams losses as well," wrote the 43-year-old.
