Four drunken men and a CRPF constable was about to molest a woman travelling in a Bengaluru bound train. The nurse who almost got molested called the Railway helpline number for women for help and the railway police was prompt to react. The nurse who was saved was the only woman in the S4 compartment of the train and thus these culprits had the guts of making sexual innuendos at her.
Bengaluru has been in the limelight for quite some time ever since the mass molestation incident that happened on the New Year’s Eve. Recently a woman was saved from four drunken men and a CRPF constable inside a railway compartment in Bengaluru. A timely call to the women’s helpline number in the Railways saved the women from being molested.

The incident happened in the Karnataka Sampark Kranti Express bound for Bengaluru on January 15, 2017. The train was arriving at the Yeshwantpur Station. The nurse who was saved was the only woman in the S4 compartment of the train and thus these culprits had the guts of making sexual innuendos at her.
The helpline informed the railway police and they nabbed one of the culprits. The drunken men fled along with the crowd. The action was taken in 20 minutes.
We need more of such prompt responses from the railway police force. This will make men of these kinds think 100 times before committing such heinous mistakes inside the train.
Women travelling in the train should ideally memorise this helpline number – 1091, whenever they are commuting alone. This helpline number is pretty effective nowadays and women can actually resort to this when in need.
Also it is probably to have CCTV cameras inside the trains so that things can be monitored and if any of such situations arise, it can be taken care of promptly.
