The girl allegedly stabbed her boyfriend who refused to marry her after dating for a while at Thirthahalli taluk in south Karnataka on Thursday.

 

The incident took place at Teerthahalli Bus stand where 22-year-old, Sumanth was severely injured after the accused Megha Shetty allegedly attacked him with a surgical blade.

 

Sumanth is a driver by profession and Megha Shetty is pursuing a degree in business management in Tunga College in Shivamogga district, were in love since two years.

 

Amid family opposition of their relationship, they had arguments at multiple occasions.

 

On Thursday, the accused met Sumanth near Teerthahalli bus stand and was coaxed him to get married.

 

Sumanth when refused her proposal, they exchanged heated words following which Megha tried to cut former’s neck with a surgical knife. Saving himself, Sumanth stepped back and got his cheek cut.

 

Megha Shetty immediately fled and the people gathered near the bus stand took victim to a hospital.

 

The Teerthahalli police have filed a case against Megha Shetty, who was absconding since since she had flee after the incident.
