Two days after a message that Hafeezuddin, the missing Keralite who is suspected to have joined Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist outfit, was killed in a drone strike, one of his relatives got a Whatsapp message of his body lying on the ground. However, the police are yet to ascertain the validity of the information.

Khadeeja, the mother of Hafeezuddin, received a Telegram message from Ashfak Majeed, another person who went missing from Kasargod, that Hafeez was killed. "He was killed by a drone strike yesterday, and we consider him to be a martyr. We are waiting for our turn, the message said.

Majeed, 25, from the same locality, used to share information with Hafeez's family toll recently. Both of them went missing from the coastal hamlets of Padanna near Cheuvathur in Kasargod. The central agencies are yet to confirm whether the missing persons are in Afghanistan or Iraq.

"Police is yet to ascertain the whereabouts of the disappeared. Only central agencies like NIA could get information. The charge sheet filed by NIA says that the missing youth are located in Nangarhar province in Afghanistan," Deputy Superintendent of Police V T Assainar said.

Meanwhile, a large number of persons are visiting the residence of Hafeezuddin, after his father reached home from Abu Dhabi.
