Vijay, Suriya to face heat of box-office failures, distributors demand red card

Contrary to the reports that appeared in media on the performance of last few films of Suriya and Vijay, it is now rumoured that for the past few years the stars have been delivering failure after failure. 
 

Latest reports are that the Tamil Nadu film distributors association has decided to issue a red card to actors Vijay and Suriya. The decision was taken given the fact that the last few films of the actors did not go well at the box-office, contrary to reports that appeared on media. 
 

Distributors state that Vijay starrer Bairavaa and Puli were huge failures and for the past few years actor did not add any hits to his list. Similar is the case of Suriya as his 24, and Singam 3 failed at the box-office. The distributors claim that they did not make profit by taking up the release and distribution of these films. 
 

Ironically, makers of Singam 3 and Bairavaa had claimed that the films collected more than ₹100 crore within a few days of release. 
 

However, the distributors allege that the news of 'huge collection' was planted by producers to save the image of the stars. Such reports led to further lose to distributors, they claimed. 
 

The association has decided to ask actors to ensure minimum guarantee for their films or else is planning to stall the release of their upcoming movies. 
 

For the last few years Vijay had an inconsistent run in the box office. His last three releases were Theri, Puli and Bairavaa. The 100 crore grosser Theri became the biggest ever hit in his career while other two failed at box-office. 
 

Surya too is not doing good in business with only 24 managing to do average business. Though there were high expectations about Singan 3, it has become an overwhelming affair at the box office in most centres including Kerala, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh where it turned out to be a colossal failure.
