Bengaluru is still under the shock of incidents of molestation during the New year’s eve at Brigade Road-MG Road and at Kammanahalli. Now there is a fresh incident of a woman being sexually abused in the wee hours of Friday.
The girl was walking to the bus stop at 6.30 am, when a man stalked her and followed her, finally catching hold of her. He bit her lips and tongue, and when she tried to wriggle out of his clutches, he injured her on the hand and leg.
However, this is the first time that the victim has come forward and filed a complaint.
When considering the earlier comments and reactions, some had blamed it on ‘modern and western’ ways of girls dressing. But this girl was wearing a burqa. For those, who feel Bengaluru is not safe during night, this incident occurred at 6.30 am.
Clearly, it Bengaluru, the dress or the time which is dangerous, but people with such mentality that they can do anything with the girls is.
Another thing which shocks us is that at a time when police have managed to arrest four people in the Kammanahalli molestation case, the boys and their heinous act is being condemned by the entire country, someone dared to repeat the same act.

Unless strict and immediate action is taken against this menace, it is sure to project Bengaluru as the most unsafe city and people of Bengaluru as either vulnerable of dangerous, which is not true.
Let some anti-social elements not malign the image of Bengaluru. These elements must be taken to task on a serious note.
