This is an era of information technology where most of the girls and boys acquaint with each other, become friends, lovers and find their soulmates and life partners in the virtual world.

But can anyone get married via online?

Here is such a weird instance, where the bridegroom got married online and tied the wedding knot also sitting in a foreign country. This has happened not in some other country, this virtual marriage has taken place in the very neighbouring state Kerala, India.

Harris, a native of Veliyam of Kerala's Kollam district, is working in Saudi Arabia and his family members fixed his marriage. But he could not get leave for his marriage due to prior work commitments.

However, the marriage was not postponed. Instead, he exchanged the wedding vows online from Saudi Arabia. On behalf of the absentee bridegroom, his sister tied the nuptial knot to his bride Shamla while he witnessed the entire rituals via web camera.

The wedding convention was held at Thamarakulam city of Alappuzha district of Kerala.

Harris is a marketing manager in a private firm in Riyadh and Shamla works as a nurse in a government health facility in Mecca.
