There is a proposal on paper to turn Nandi Hills into an adventure sports destination. If this project materialises then there will be activities like heritage walk, bird watching, awareness camp, trekking, cycling, and much more for tourist.

The proposal to turn the Nandi Hills into a full-fledged adventure tourism destination is on paper for quite some time now, and it seems the plan will spend some more time on paper due to red tapism.
According to a leading daily report, the proposal is already suffering due to lack of coordination among different departments of the state government, including tourism, forest, and horticulture. This is acting as a barrier for the project to start.
The New Indian Express quoted the state tourism minister as saying that there are too many inter-departmental issues and bringing all these departments together is a ‘major challenge’. The departments involved in this project are tourism, forest, revenue, ASI, and horticulture.
Nandi Hills is approximately 60 km away from Bengaluru and if this project materialises then this popular weekend getaway will have various activities like heritage walk, bird watching, awareness camp, trekking, cycling, and so on and so forth.
