Tirupathi doctor abducted in Palakkad, escapes

A doctor who was abducted by a group of men in Alathur, Palakkad, managed to escape, the police said. The doctor was kidnapped by a gang in a car when he went for his morning walk. 
 

Police conducted an investigation based on a man missing case filed by hospital authorities. Dr Sudhakar Babu, 67, a native of Tirupathi in Andhra Pradesh was working as an anaesthetist at Crescent Hospital in Alathur. 
 

According to the complaint doctor was abducted from near his house at 6.30 am in the morning when he went for a walk. The doctor used to take both his mobile phones with him as he went for a walk. As he failed to return after usual time his colleagues tried to contact him on his mobile but to no avail. They lodged complaint around noon. 
 

Police investigation revealed that the doctor had filed a complaint against a group of people with regard to purchase of property in his native place. He had also moved court after the team failed to make complete payment even after agreed deadline. 
 

There was no other evidence, and the only eyewitness was the milkman who saw some persons forcibly taking the doctor in a red car. Police successfully tracked the route of the car in which Babu was abducted. Gang members became confused after they came to know about police investigation and doctor successfully made use of the situation to escape from them.  
 

Police arrested Anand, a native of Andhra Pradesh, in the case. Anand is the Public Relations Officer of JNN Charitable Hospital in Andhra Pradesh, with whom Suresh Babu had made the land deal. Police also identified Suresh, the owner of JNN Charitable Hospital, as the main accused.
