Gau Rakshak threatens to kill former minister Lalitha Naik

Threatening letter to former minister by Gau Rakshak

B.T. Lalitha Naik has been vehemently opposing the violence and brutality in the name of holy cow, and this seems to have offended the sensitivities of  a right-wing extremist.

Reportedly, miffed Udupi resident Sunil Sharma sent a threatening letter to her Sanjaynagar address. In the letter, Sunil Sharma has said that he would kill her if she continuous to support the bill that questions the ban on cow slaughter.

Naik has said that she would file a complaint in the police station.

“I have received many letters and phone calls like this. But so far I have not revealed anything. Even today I don’t have any fear that they’re going to kill me. Since my well wishers are forcing me to take precautionary measures, I’m going to file a complaint. Besides, we should not give a chance to the police to escape from their responsibility saying that they did not inform us about it earlier” – BT Lalitha Naik

In the month of July she had made a statement on Gau Sevaks in a program that was held in Chikkamagaluru. In her speech she had remarked that a cow is not a mother, we already treat it like a commercial commodity. You can sell the cow milk but you cannot sell a human mother’s breast milk just like that. This statement triggered animosity amongst the Gau Sevaks .

Yesterday she had participated in a protest to commemorate the first anniversary of MM Kalburgi’s assassination that was held in Dharwad.
