This Kochi biking firm is taking Kerala tourism to a new high

Whenever someone talks about bike rides, the Leh-Ladakh route is the first thing that comes in our mind. It is high time that we need to get ahead of these clichés. It is not only the Himalayan Mountains which can give you the thrill in India and this bike rental stop in Kochi has gone a step ahead of the conventional thoughts.

The Kochi-based motor bike rental firm, Caferide, has been renting out luxury motorcycles and premium bikes including Harley Davidson and Ducati. This initiative is taking motor bike tourism to a new height.

"We three friends launched the high-end motor bike rental shop at Padivattom, Kochi, last year. Though the concept is new to Kerala, it is popular in other metro cities," Alok Nath told Deccan Chronicle, who is one of the three owners of the firm.

The state tourism department and the motor vehicle departments have given Caferide the license to rent out luxury and premium bikes. The tourism department ha s also allowed Caferide to use the logo of Kerala Tourism on their bikes.

"Any domestic and international traveller aged 21 and above can hire motor bikes from the firm. A copy of valid driving licence, identity proof and a refundable security deposit of Rs 5,000 are required for hiring the vehicle. We've been getting encouraging response from travel enthusiasts," Nath added.

The rented bikes are fitted with GPS and advanced safety features. However, no one can drive rashly with this premium range of bikes. Caferide also provides riders with camera and other travel accessories.
