Temple priest arrested for raping 70-year-old woman

Kerala police arrested a young temple priest on the charge of raping an elderly woman. The priest allegedly raped a 70-year-old temple employee. 
 

The arrested is identified as Vaisakh, 20, of Madukka, Mundakkayam in Kottayam.
 

The incident came to light after the woman revealed about it to doctors of Idukki District Hospital. The priest assaulted her last week when he arrived the temple to perform poojas in the absence of the head priest. 
 

The woman, who was under severe trauma, visited District Hospital at Idukki and revealed the incident to doctors, who informed the police. The police took the statement of the woman, and a complaint was filed. 
 

Vaisakh was arrested fro his house on Sunday based on the complaint given by The woman. The accused was remanded in judicial custody for fourteen days.
