Telengana temples to go cashless

In a drive to promote cashless transactions, all temples in Telengana will be provided with point-of-sale swipe machines to receive payments from the devotees and donators. The endowment department has taken the initiative and they are also going to upgrade the websites with payment gateways.

Telengana’s chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao released a statement regarding cashless transactions. After that the endowment minister A Indrakaran Reddy held a number of meetings with the temple officials of the state.

Reddy stated that to start with the process; they will introduce card swiping machines at Yadadri, Bhadradri, Kaleswaram, Vemulawada, Kondagattu and Basara temples. The rest of the temples will get their point-of-sale machines in phases and that will not take much time.

With the help of these card machines, services like booking cottages, darshan tickets, special pujas, donations, payment at prasadam counters and at kalyanakatta will become seemingly easier than before as they will be cashless.

Now the temple officials will have to apply for the units at the respective banks in Telengana. A final meeting is supposed to be held and the implementation process will begin soon said Reddy.
