Teen stabbed to death during New Year Celebrations in Palakkad

Teen stabbed to death New Year Celebrations Palakkad

Violence marred New Year celebrations in Kerala after two incidents in which one student was stabbed to death In Palakkad and three CPM workers were injured in Kannur. 
 

Sujith, 19, died on the spot when two persons attacked him during New Year celebrations at Kottayamkad in Palakkad. His friend and neighbour Akhil, 16, also suffered injuries when the rival group attacked the duo. He is admitted to hospital with serious injuries. 
 

The bike-borne assailants approached the youths who were taking part in the celebrations about 3 AM and entered into a quarrel with the victim and stabbed them. 
 

Police registered a case and have begun probe into the incident. The previous enmity between two groups resulted in the incident, the police said. 
 

In another incident three CPM workers suffered serious injuries after they were allegedly attacked by RSS workers following a dispute about writing graffiti on the road.
