Tamil Nadu Authorities Restricted Karnataka Police

Karnataka police who were investigating a murder had to travel to Tamil Nadu but were allegedly denied entry into the state by the authorities.

Sub-inspector Srinivas from Attibele police station along with his team were heading to Hosur to investigate a murder case when the Tamil Nadu authorities at the state border stopped them. The incident was reported on Sunday.

Srinivas explained the purpose of his visit and also showed the authorities his identity cards and authorisation letters.

The authorities claimed that the situation in Tamil Nadu was serious because of the Cauvery water issue which had led to vandalism and arson.

While Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has been undergoing treatment, the authorities claimed they had to maintain peace and order taking into consideration the situation in the state.
