Swathi murder case: Crucial Identification parade today
Swathi murder accused P Ramkumar will be paraded today for identification. The parade is scheduled to begin at 10.30 am at the Puzhal Central Jail in Chennai.Â
Â
Eyewitnesses would be gathered at the jail today to identify the accused. The entire parade would be officiated by a judicial magistrate.
Â
On 24 June, Infosys employee was hacked to death in broad daylight at the Nungambakkam Railway station. The incident had shocked Chennai and raised several questions about women’s safety.
Â
The Madras High Court had earlier objected to the circulation of photos of Ramkumar which is likely to prove tricky during the identification parade. During the identification parade, which is a crucial aspect of investigation, similar looking people as that of the accused are produced and eye witnesses are supposed to identify the culprit.
Â
Ramkumar had tried to commit suicide when he was rounded up at his residence in Tirunelveli.
