Still mourning, do not celebrate my birthday: CM Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah turned 69 today. But as he still in mourning over the recent death of his son Rakesh, he was unwilling to celebrate his birthday.

Siddaramaiah has requested his supporters that as his family was still in shock and had not come to terms with the tragedy, they should refrain from holding grand celebrations in his name.

In a letter, the CM said,

"My family has still not emerged from the tragedy of losing our son. At this time, we cannot be part of any celebrations in any way. I am not in a position to receive garlands and wishes on my birthday.

So, I hope those who love me will understand my situation and will respect my request.

Currently, Siddaramaiah is at his residence in Mysuru. He will arrive in Bengaluru in the evening to take part in a meeting.
