SNDP leader Vellappally Nateshan snaps ties with BJP

Within days after tribal leader CK Janu, one of the major leaders of the BJP-led alliance in Kerala in the last assembly polls, warned the BJP leadership against backing off from its promises, Vellappally Nateshan,  the outspoken general secretary of SNDP Yogam, also come out against the BJP for not fulfilling promises given.

"I have severed all ties with the BJP. There is no point in continuing the alliance with a party which faltered on all promises given (while striking the alliance.),"  Vellappally Nateshan, who was instrumental in the formation of Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS), a major partner of the NDA, told Mangalam daily.

"The BJP did not fulfil any of the promises given to me. Prime Minister Modi had promised that Kerala Central University will be named after Sree Narayana Guru. But it remains an illusion even after a year, despite repeated reminders," Nateshan said.

Though Nateshan minced no words in decrying the BJP, his son and chairman of the BDJS Thushar Vellappally has not uttered anything against the national party.  "I don't know what happened to the promises given to BDJS," Nateshan said, distancing himself from the party he founded.

Janadhipatya Rashtriya Sabha leader CK Janu, who joined the NDA before the elections last year, had blamed the BJP for sidelining the promises given to it. "BJP has an obligation to fulfil the promises. If they don't, they will face the bitter after-effects," she warned.
