Hardly hard the screams of Bengaluru being no city for women, faded into the background after the incident on MG Road on New Year's Eve, than another incident has come to light. This time in Banaswadi at HRBR Layout. On Sunday, February 12, it a biker waylaid an air hostess and her friend while the two were returning home after having dinner.

The woman was taken aback at the sudden attack from the biker. On her way home from the 99 Dose Hotel, after dinner, at around 10 pm the biker forcibly stopped her, grabbed her upper garments as if trying to undress her. The woman, immediately recovered her wits and lashed out at him and raised an alarm.

A friend who was accompanying her also tried to save her, but was beaten by the unidentified biker for doing so. Later on, when the biker realised that he would be in trouble and that she was not going to give up without a fight, he fled from the place, leaving two very shocked women.

“It was a dark night and there was no power supply in that area, when the incident took place. He was wearing a helmet and I could not recognise his face. But I strongly doubt that he was in an inebriated state” – the victim.

The Banaswadi police have filed a case and are examining the CCTV footages from surveillance cameras that are installed in and around the location. Two similar incidents were reported recently at the same police station and the police had arrested the accused in both cases.
