Sasikala to be shifted to Tumakuru jail?

 

Parappana Agrahara jailer Satyanarayana is on a visit to the Tumakuru jail to see the arrangements there to shift Sasikala. Recently, Sasikala’s supporters had requested the jail officers to shift her to Tamil Nadu jail. But this request was rejected by the authorities.

 

However, Sasikala’s lawyers are leaving no stone unturned to find out the legal means to shift their leader to Chennai jail. But following a Right To Information (RTI) by KR Ramaswamy, who is also known as Traffic Ramaswamy to know the current situation the convicts Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran are in the Parappana Agrahara.

Traffic Ramaswamy in his petition had said that Sasikala and Ilavarasi should be moved to Taumakuru district jail, where there are less chances of ministers and influential people from Tamil Nadu visiting the convicts in the Tumakuru jail.

 

The sworn-in ministers may not come to meet Sasikala if she is moved to Tumakuru jail which is about 100 km away from Bengaluru, said Traffic Ramaswamy.

The authorities concerned will decide whether to shift Sasikala to Tumakuru jail after considering the situation and security concerns there. However, Sasikala is being treated as a common prisoner and has not been given any special privileges apart from a TV set.

 

However, her nephew TTV Dinakaran, who has been appointed as the Deputy President of the AIADMK and Chief Minister Palasisamy along with the ministers have made trips to the Parappana Agrahara jail to consult Sasikala on certain political matters.

 

The request from Traffic Ramaswamy comes in the wake of such developments.
