Indians might be seething, but Pakistan happy with Ramya

Actress-turned-politician Ramya is facing a sedition charge filed against her by a lawyer in Karnataka for praising people in Pakistan, kicking up a controversy with questions being raised over invoking a colonial-era law to curb free speech.
     

As the 33-year-old Ramya's remarks triggered a bitter backlash on social media and BJP and ABVP workers staged protests terming her remarks "anti-national", the actress stood her ground and ruled out tendering any apology, saying she has not said anything wrong.

 

And while Pakistani media did not pay much attention on Ramya spoke in the SAARC summit, they are eagerly the sedition case.

 

Various news channels have been telecasting her statement on loop, and several leading news papers in Pakistan have published her statement on their front page.

‘The Nation’, another leading newspaper in Pakistan, went with “Indian actress faces sedition for ‘liking’ Pakistan”.
