Seniors beat up student for keeping beard in Kerala
A polytechnic student from Kozhikode was allegedly ragged and beaten up by a gang of senior students for keeping a beard. Â
Â
In a police complaint filed by Muhammed Nisnnal Mansoor, a B-Arch student of a private college in Kozhikde alleged that he was beaten up by the final year students for not shaving off his beard.  A case has been lodged against 40 senior students following the complaint. Â
Â
"I was ragged for not  shaving off beard. First they warned me in the afternoon and when the classes were over and when I was going home, a gang of around 40 senior students stopped me and four of them thrashed me. They hit my head and kicked," complains Mansoor who is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Kozhikode.
Â
The incident is just another case of ragging reported in quick succession after a Malayalee Dalit student was allegedly forced to drink toilet lotion  by Keralite students at a Karnataka college.Â
