A top police officer with the hi-tech cell of Kerala Police has been suspended from service following allegations that he misbehaved with the hostess of an international conference at Kollam on Saturday.
IG Manoj Abraham ordered for disciplinary action against ACP Vinayakumaran Nair and another policeman for misbehaving with a girl who was the official programme hostess of the two day International Information Security Conference titled c0c0n- 2016.
The incident took place on Saturday evening soon after Chief Minister left the venue after inaugurating the closing ceremony of ‘c0c0n 2016.’ The girl alleged that she was seated among the audience when Nair and another policeman approached her and asked for her mobile number. They also used abusive words.
The girl reported the incident IG Manoj Abraham who summoned Nair and his quizzed on the whole episode. They were also asked to leave the venue at once. The incident was brought to the notice of DGP Loknath Behera has sought for a report on the matter.
Kollam rural SP Ajitha Begum will probe the allegations.
