Less 'qualified' than last polls: Netas confess in affidavits

Poll affidavits Jayalakshmi Ganeshkumar controversy

Kerala Minister for Youth Affairs PK Jayalakshmi lost a 'degree' after five years in government. Following suit, her former colleague in the ministry and Kerala Congress B leader Ganesh Kumar also chose to forgo the degree he had during the previous elections!

Trollers were having a field day on Jayalakshmi’s lost degree when Ganesh Kumar’s B.Com degree made a vanishing trick.

When Jayalakshmi filed nomination papers for 2011 Assembly polls, she had BA Degree. But when a local leader of Communist Party of India-Marxist dragged her to the court challenging her claim, the youngest minister in the UDF ministry confessed that she did not make it through the BA examinations. In the affidavit filed with the Election Commission this time, Jayalakshmi was discreet enough to stop at Plus-two.

Despite being in power for five years, a Minister lost a Degree, taunted the social media critics.

Trollers were having a field day on Jayalakshmi’s lost degree when Ganesh Kumar’s B.Com degree made a vanishing trick.

When facing his fourth assembly elections, Malayalam film star and former Minister Ganesh Kumar also delisted his B.Com degree in his latest affidavit.
In his affidavit in 2001, his highest academic qualification was Bachelor of Commerce (B.com). He retained the degree from the University of Kerala in 2006. In 2011, he mentioned B.Com (completed), as it is shown in the Kerala Assembly website.

In his latest affidavit, Ganesh Kumar's highest education qualification is just Pre-Degree from Thiruvanananthapuram Govt. Arts College.

Ganesh Kumar was the Minister for Transport in AK Antony ministry in 2001 and was entrusted with the Forest, Sports and Cinema portfolios in the Oommen Chandy ministry till April 2013 when he stepped down after his former wife raised allegations of domestic violence.
