In view of the ongoing dispute between taxi aggregators and drivers association, the transport commissioner of Bengaluru, K Ayyappa, met both the parties in a meeting hosted on March 6. The commissioner gave seven days time to find a solution for the issues.

Apart from this he also instructed Ola and Uber not to lease out cars for being unfair for other operators and penalise taxi drivers for various serious matters like misbehaviour and not for cancelling rides.

Ola and Uber have also been told to follow the minimum fare to be fixed by the transport authority. However, taxi aggregators are allowed to create their own incentive schemes.

About the incentive system, president of Ola and Uber Drivers’ and Owners’ Union, Tanveer Pasha, has been reported to have said that, the drivers do not need the incentive scheme at all. They want commission rates to be reduced and the fare. The New Indian Express quoted Pasha as saying that the association will launch their own mobile app if Ola and Uber fail to resolve the issues as expected by them in next seven days.
