Ola to put kiosks outside pubs, bars with breath analysers

Under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, Ola cabs are all set to place breath analysers at over 1,000 pubs and bars to help the customers at pubs and restaurants to take a ride post-binge drinking and avoid a freak accident.
The initiative was recently inaugurated by UT Khader, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs in the presence of Raghuvesh Sarup, CMO, Ola.
Through this campaign, the taxi aggregator wants to encourage people to take safe rides back home after alcohol consumption.
"Under the influence of alcohol a driver or a rider may end up in a freak accident and to avoid this Ola wants to take up an initiative to make roads and cities safer,” Said Sarup.
To discourage drinking and driving, Ola will put KIOSKS to set up breath analysers. The customers can avail the cab facility at the kiosks if they are too high.
UT Khader says, the road accidents involving drunk and drive was on the rise and hence to cut down an initiative was needed apart from police check. Now with the campaign under the name RISK -Road Safety Initiative for Safer Karnataka, many such accidents can be avoided.
The minister says in few places, the KIOSKS has been set up and it will be replicated in other areas as well.
