More than 1000 organisations across Karnataka have called for bandh in view of Supreme Court's judgement on Kaveri issue. But Coorg has decided not to support the bandh. Some organisations have said that they’ll give moral support for the bandh but won’t actively participate in it.

Organisations of Coorg have said that instead of protesting, they’ll submit an appeal and demand a permanent solution. BN Prakash, Chairman for Coorg District Chamber of Commerce, Hosuru Ramesh Joyappa, Chairman for Coorg District Private Bus Owners' and Employees' Association, GJ Jones, Honorary Chairman for Coorg District Taxi Owners' Association and other leaders and organisers held a press meet and said this.

Private buses, taxis, auto rickshaws are running as usual in Coorg. There is no holiday for schools and colleges in the district. GR Basavaraju, DDPI (Deputy Director for Public Instruction) has confirmed that schools and colleges will run as usual.

Speaking to the press, former MLC and senior advocate, A K Subbaiah said that the judgement of Supreme Court is not favourable to Karnataka “but coming to the streets and shouting slogans is not the solution.”

In the press meet, he said that CM Siddaramaiah is not responsible for this judgement and alleged that some vested interests are taking advantage of this situation to defame Siddaramaiah.

He posed a question for the protesters asking them whether they will get water by such protests and said that it is foolishness to damage our own public property in the name of protest. “The problem can be solved by mutual discussion and through legal proceedings. Changing Nariman is also not a right solution,” he added.
