KIA runway will be shut down every day from February 19 to April 30. It will be a partial shutdown. The closure will affect hundreds of airline passengers flying in and out of Bengaluru.

Mark your calendars and get ready to face major inconveniences as Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) will be partially shut down till April 30, first for Aero India rehearsals, the show and later, for runway upgradations work.
Last November, a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) was issued by the United States NOTAM System, that the KIA runway will be shut down every day from February 19 to April 30, 2017 between 10:30am to 5pm (IST) for constructing the rapid exit taxiways (RETs).
The shutdown is expected to cause major problems both to airlines and passengers.

KIA but has assured that it is making all arrangements to ensure that the passengers are not affected.
"Passenger convenience will be ensured with airlines sharing communication on the change in airport operations and revised flight timings during the length of the 2017 Aero India show," KIA said in an official release.
