Both the parties have been trying their best to side with the JD(S). It has been speculated that both Congress and BJP have been in talks with JD(S) in this regard. Also, a second round of discussions is expected will be held for a tie-up with JD(S).

Kumaraswamy, who is currently in Hyderabad, will be speaking to both the party representatives on Friday. Kumaraswamy has hinted that his party would hold talks with other political parties who would move in favour of JDS for the post of Mayor. JD(S) supporters claim that this move will be important for both Congress and BJP in the ensuing BBMP elections.

"Small differences might have cropped up between the parties in the previous year. But both parties have shown interest in keeping the alliance, said G Parameshwar, state Home Minister and KPCC president.

BBMP council secretary Pallavi was instructed to prepare the election timetable after she had submitted the voters list in this regard to the Regional Election Commissioner. The final list of voters along with the timetable will be declared, an official revealed.
