Mysore readies for royal wedding, palace to remain shut

Mysore royal wedding, Palace to remain closed


Mysore is getting all decked up for the upcoming royal wedding and as part of the preparations the famous palace will be soon be off-limits to visitors.

 

Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, the scion of Mysore royal family, will wed Trishika Kumari on June 27 at Mysore Palace.

 

Hectic preparations are already underway for the almost week long wedding celebrations, which take place from June 24 and 29.

The royal family that has extended invitations to President Pranab Mukerjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and to several other royal families in the country, as well as to the ambassadors of  USA, Germany, Switzerland and France.


Around 4,000 guests are expected to attend the the wedding and royal reception. Raja Maatha Pramoda Devi has reportedly written a letter to Mysore DC and requested for closing the Palace from June 23 to 28 to the outside visitors.
