Mysore Palace set for Royal wedding, shut to public from today

Mysore Palace, no entry, Yaduveer-Trishika wedding

For the first time in almost 40 years, the Mysore palace is all decorated and decked for a family function.

The Palace, which will remain shut to the public Friday onwards, is set to host the wedding of crown prince Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar with the Rajasthan princess Trishika Kumari

The ceremonies leading to the marriage will begin on Friday and no one will be allowed to enter the Palace for the next six days.

To ensure no security lapse or any other problem, the palace has been closed.

The recent incident of a couple using the palace for their wedding shoot without authorisation from the royals has made the palace authorities extra-careful that no untoward incidents should happen during the celebrations

Pre-marriage preparations will be held on June 24, 25 and 26. The marriage rituals will be held on the morning of June 27 between 9.05 am and 9.35 am.

A royal celebration called Urutane Uyyale will be held at the Durbar Hall on the same day from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm.

The grand reception will be held on June 28 evening.

As most Mysureans have not been invited for the wedding, the newly-weds will go on a procession in an open car around the city on June 29.
