LDF government restarts demolition drive at Munnar
 The Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government has started cracking down on encroachers and illegal constructions in Munnar, the scenic hill station of Kerala. A two-storied building was demolished and a four storied one sealed by the Revenue officials on Thursday.Â

 The Revenue Department officials have issued stop memos to more than 200 construction projects in Munnar, one of the most happening tourism destination in Kerala.Â

The Revenue officials sealed a four-storied building at Pooppara near Munnar after finding it illegal.  Though the  Department had already issued an order to stop the construction activities, the builders went ahead with the works .  On Thursday, the officials reached the site and sealed the building prohibiting further construction works.Â

The revenue officials also demolished a two-storied building, which was constructed illegally, near Munnar town. Revenue Divisional Officer Sabin Sameed is leading the demolition drive against illegal constructions. Â

Munnar demolition drive that began during the tenure of V S Achuthanandan government had a abrupt end as it triggered a big controversy and eventually got embroiled in legal battle. Â
