MP supports students who wear saffron stole

There are instances in Uttara Kannada district, where some college students in the campuses are found wearing saffron stole as a mark of protest against wearing burqa. Anant Kumar Hegde, BJP MP from Uttara Kannada has supported this protest of saffron students.

He told that he’ll support the students’ saffron protest if the colleges having a dress code are allowing wearing burqa/scarf.  In his press statement he has expressed displeasure saying that some college management as well as the police in Uttara Kannada have failed to solve the problem.

He has alleged that some college managements have compromised rules and regulations of government in order to appease a handful of students. He has questioned the credibility of the education that they are imparting to the students.

He has also questioned the competency of officers who are discriminating students and allowing them to derelict the rules. He extended his support to students who are questioning this discrimination of college management.

Recently Sringeri police filed FIR against a student (Abhishek) of ABVP wing, who was involved in a similar kind of protest. Later, Abhishek was shaken by the police action and committed suicide as none of his co-protesters extended a moral support to him.

In order to avoid such tragedies, our leaders need to prevent students from involving in politics and protests that are based on caste and religion.
