A 21-year old Naveenkumar was talking on his phone at around 4.15 PM from the balcony of his flat at S V Apartments in Rajareshwarinagar, off Mysore Road in Bengaluru.
With a cup of coffee in one hand and his cell phone in the other, he walked over to the terrace on the fifth floor due to poor network connectivity inside his apartment.
That’s when tragedy struck, he was pacing about, engrossed in conversation, near the edge of the terrace when he suddenly lost balance, slipped from the low- walled terrace and landed on the ground with a loud thud.
The bewildered residents and his parents rushed to the spot and found Naveenkumar lying in a pool of blood. They rushed him to a hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
Fate plays such cruel tricks, Naveenkumar was scheduled to leave to the US on Tuesday night, but his flight was cancelled at the eleventh hour and postponed to Wednesday night.
The police, however, will gather more information to determine whether the fall was accidental or an attempt to suicide.
