Dilip Kumar worked as a train driver with Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation services. However, the metro officials weren't happy with him because he came drunk to work and occasionally skipped work as well. Even after repeated warnings and issuing notices, Kumar showed no signs of change.

The body was discovered by a friend of Kumar's, who paid a visit to Kumar's rented flat on Sunday and found the door locked. The same friend had visited the previous night as well and had found the door locked even then. Growing suspicious, the friend fetched a duplicate key from the homeowner and entered the flat, only to find Kumar hanging from a ceiling fan.

A case has been registered at Peenya police station. The police confirmed that the reason behind Kumar's drastic step is unknown and that Kumar was alone in his flat on Saturday night.

The 30-year-old bachelor hailed from Jakkanahalli in Mandya district. Kumar's father, a retired government employee, and mother currently live in Hassan district.
