Massive fire at chemical industrial estate in Bengaluru

The locals of Kumbalgudu, Ramanagara district in West Bengaluru were shocked as they witnessed a massive fire outbreak at the chemical industrial estate of the area.

After the locals reported the huge smoke coming out from the chemicals factories, eight fire tenders were rushed to the spot.

Chief Fire Officer(CFO) Basavanna said, the smoke started building up at Gomti Incinco, a polymer recycling company, after which fire station was alerted.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ramanagara district, Laxmi Ganesh said, a 15-member team from Kumbalgudu Police Station was rushed to the spot to aid the fire fighters' team conducting extinguishing operation.

Basavanna said, the deodorant bottles and other polythene items were being recycled and it is suspected that—due to heat some reaction would have taken place resulting in major fire."

Eight fire tenders and 45 men were promptly rushed to the spot to control fire.

As the fire was blazing, a truck load of sand was dumped to bring the fire under control, he said. "No casualties were reported at the spot as the fire extinguishing operations were completed."

He pointed out that the fire outbreak was due to the increasing amount of heat all over the Karnataka.Â
