Marks card racket busted in Karnataka; 8 arrested

Marks card racket busted in Karnataka 8 arrested

The Karnataka Police on Monday busted a notorious gang which was involved in preparing fake degree and marks card in the state and eight have been arrested. Moreover, nine educational institutions of the state have also been booked by the police in connection with this case.

 

According to Abhinav Khare,the Superintendent of Police of Shivamogga, the arrested culprits are Vivek Dinakar,Vishal Dinakar,both belonging to Pune; Tousif Basha Saab, Hanumanthappa from Karnataka;Praveen Kumar of Hubballi; Sagar, Ravikumar, and Gopalkrishna of Bengaluru.

 

While applying for a passport, the passport office found that Tousif's SSLC mark card which he had enclosed along with the application was furnished. Soon after which they informed the police. After interrogation, Tousif revealed that Hanumanthappa who was his tutor helped him get the fake mark card. Further investigation led to the other culprits from Pune who were involved in printing these fake cards.

 

The nine institutions who have been involved in this scam include Elite Academy,Bengaluru Growtech Education Trust, Bengaluru,Srisaila Mallikarjuna Educational Institute, Kalburgi and Sri Krishna Rathod Distance Educational Institute in Vijayapura
