Police nabs man who allegedly abducted Manipuri woman

The cops have finally arrested the accused who tried to kidnap a Manipuri woman who was standing near her residence at Katriguppe in Bengaluru on April 23, late evening.

Akshay Kumar alias Akshay, a driver by profession was detained in this case at C.K Acchukattu Police Station on Monday and was booked under IPC section 341, 323, 354, 354A, 365, 511; while the investigation was pending.

The viral CCTV footage shows that the man tried to kidnap the woman as she was standing alone in the street. The video later went viral across the social media and various news channels.

Akshay is a regular criminal and was earlier arrested in 2014 during Ganapati festival on attempt to murder charges under IPC section 307 and later released on bail.

The previous case on Akshay is still under investigation, while he is again detained on kidnapping charges.
