The man, in the video which went viral yesterday showing him throwing a dog from a terrace in Tamil Nadu has been identified as Gautam S, a final year medical student. The police are yet to confirm the identity of the person who shot and circulated this video.
It was on Monday that the video went viral on Whatsapp and Facebook when it triggered outrage for Gautam who threw a whimpering dog from a terrace. The video ends with the sound of the dog crying in pain.
This horrifying act prompted the students Of Madha College to reveal the identity of their classmate. One of the activists told The News Minute that when the students of the college recognized Gautam and tried to reveal his identity, they were threatened by him.
As soon as the identities of the culprits were revealed, the police accompanied with activists went to arrest the duo however they were found absconding. The police claimed that Gautham went to Chennai and the other suspect returned to his village.
Investigation is still going on and the police will be visiting the college today to gather more information about the culprits.The Humane Society International/India had earlier offered a reward of Rs 100,000 yesterday for helping them with the identification and conviction of the culprits.
