In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old man was stabbed to death over a property dispute in Kanhangad in Kasargod. His wife and son suffered serious injuries after the argument escalated into a knife fight.

The dispute between brothers over digging a borewell in the disputed property resulted in the incident. The deceased Kumaran was stabbed on the back and was rushed to hospital, but his life could not be saved. Valsala, 40, wife of the deceased is undergoing treatment at a private hospital after she suffered stab injuries on her neck. Their son Prasad, 24, is admitted to district hospital.
The incident took place on Saturday. Kumaran and his brothers Raghavan, Padmanabhan and Sreedharan had a disagreement over digging a borewell in the disputed plot. The clash escalated and about 11 PM and Kumaran was attacked.
Police doubts that attack was carried out by the brothers and nephews of Kumaran, but has not identified the assailants. A case was registered and police have landed a probe. "We have registered a case and arrest will be made after identifying the attackers," Hosdurg sub-inspector said.
