Malayalam actress assault: Blackmail planned a month ago

The actress was allegedly taken hostage on the way from Thrissur to Kochi on February 17 and molested. The criminals also took pictures and videos to blackmail her before letting her go. Police said some people have been taken into custody for allegedly helping the suspected mastermind Pulser Suni.

 

According to speculations, police are also investigating the role of a quotation mafia, (akin to a supari gang operates) in this whole incident. Now investigation has also revealed that the plan to extort money from the actress using her pictures as bait was planned a month ago. 

 

The Malayalam film actor’s career had been a promising one before but it was widely rumoured  that due to her closeness with a particular star wife, she lost out on a lot of plum projects. Some politicians like V Muralidharan, have openly asked the police to investigate the actress’s rumoured ban as a result of fallout with  a superstar of the Malayalam film industry. Now that the actor was slowly emerging from the shadows that this molestation case occurred. Questions are being asked whether this assault could be a way of ending her filmy career for good.

These allegations are flying around as much is being derived from the speech Manju Warrier made at a protest meet organised by the Malayalam film industry.  Her words hinted that there was a deeper connection with the industry than seen on the surface and that the whole incident could have been a conspiracy.

 

Recently we also reported how the name of a Malayalam star and producer is also being linked to the case. The actress has given her statement to the magistrate and has named the actor, say sources.

 

But the Malayalam film fraternity, on a whole has refused to comment on these speculations and have dismissed them.The police has lodged an FIR with IPC sections 376 (rape), 365 (kidnap), 120-B (criminal conspiracy) 341 (wrongful restraint) 506 (criminal intimidation) and provisions under the IT Act.

 

Among other news, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has spoken to the actress and assured of stern action against the perpetrators.
