Mudabidre police have arrested a certain Shankara Prasad, who had posted some very ugly and insensitive comments on Facebook about the recent road accident near Kundapur, where eight children died.
In his Facebook status, Prasad, in Tulu had said, “Why we should worry, all the children who died in the road accident are Christians.”
A local Christian leader, Ashwin Jossi Pereira filed a complaint against Shankara Prasad on the basis of which he was arrested.
On June 21, a school van met with an accident and the eight children died tragically in that.
Ashwin Jossi Pereira told the media, “All the children belong to God. But this man sees caste and religion even in death. This is inhuman. This kind of status disturbs social harmony. We urge the police to arrest this man within seven days. Otherwise, we are going to hold a district-wide protest.”
