KSRTC to get 6000 buses next year

KSRTC All Set For 6000 New Buses

The Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Tuesday announced that 6000 new buses will be inducted in all four transport corporations of the state by the end of March next year. 

 

The minister made the announcement while flagging off a fleet of new buses in a function that was organized at the Shantinagar bus depot in Bengaluru.This is for the first time that vehicles designed and manufactured jointly by Volvo and Eicher Motors have been bought by the State Transport organization. 

 

In view of this development, all old and damaged vehicles across the four State Transport corporations will be auctioned in scrap market and the new buses will soon replace the old ones,the minister said.

 

"Our staff have made an experimental run of these new buses and verified all technical aspects. Our drivers and technical personnel have been provided with adequate training in handling these vehicles" he said.

 

He further revealed that the new buses will run in Bengaluru, Ramnagara, Tumkur, Kolar, Chickballapur, Mysore, Mysore City, Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan, Chickmagalur, Mangaluru, Puttur and Davangere next year onwards.
