As Asianet Newsable reported, the couple Kripa and Akash have married two months ago amid protests. They were visiting the sub registrar’s office in Rajarajeshwari Nagar to collect their marriage certificate when they were assaulted by a mob.

The crowd, led by the girl's mother tried to physically assault the couple and harass them, though the incident did not escalate beyond shoves and screams. Among many accusations, the girl's mother alleged that Akash has cheated many girls before and he used his money to seduce Kripa.
Since the 'mob' was both well-dressed and came prepared with a TV crew to capture the drama, one can assume it was staged by the girl's family. Dr Akash is the principal of the National Institute of Creative Communication, where Kripa was pursuing her studies.
Apparently, Kripa joined the college in 2010 at the tender age of 21 and where Dr Akash, who was 59 at the time, was the chief of the college. The two got married two months ago.
