KPAC Lalitha chosen Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi chairman

Kerala government has decided to appoint veteran actress KPAC Lalitha as the chairman of Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy, while eminent writer Vaisakhan has been chosen as the chairman of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi. 
 

The state government is also considering the appointment of Beena Paul, the award winning film editor the vice-chairperson of KSCA.

Paul is the former deputy director (festivals) of Kerala State Chalachithra Academy (KSCA) and the artistic director of International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) as  
 

Reports suggests that the government is likely to make the announcement on Monday. 
 

There are indications that film director Sibi Malayil and Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty will be appointed executive members of KSCA. 
 

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) had hoped KPAC Lalitha, the senior actor and wife of famous director Bharathan, would contest as the candidate from Vadakkencherry constituency in the Assembly elections, but she withdrew from the fray after local leadership of the party opposed her candidature.
