 A Malayalee collection agent was found murdered inside his residence at Muscat, Oman on Tuesday. The police suspect that the 50-year-old man was murdered during a robbery attempt. 

 The body of Sathyan, 50, a native of Thirumala in Thiruvananthapuram, was found lying at his residence in Oman. Sathyan was working as a collection agent of a dealer of Oman Flour Mills. Police suspect that Sathyan was murdered by robbers who must have tried to loot the money he collected from the clients. He used to return to his residence by noon with the money collected. It is suspected that the murder took place about 1 pm after he returned from work.

Sathyan's friend, who came to his place after work, was the first one to find the dead body. In a similar incident in last month, John Philip, a Kottayam native, was abducted and murdered after he resisted a robbery attempt in Muscat. The police had arrested six Omani nationals in connection with the murder.
