Kerala woman to lead IAF contingent on Republic Day

Women officers have been participating in Republic Day parades, but this time a lady officer from Kerala will lead the Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent along with three others. Flight Lieutenant Drishya Nath from Palakkad will march the majestic Rajpath along with Flag Officer Triple Chaturvedi, Flight Lieutenant S S Mythraye. The officers will accompany Squadron Leader Attal Singh who will lead the 144 member contingent. 
 

Drihsya, an engineering graduate left her job with IBM to join IAF. She is at present serving the Eastern Air Command. She is the daughter of T Raveendranath and Komalavalli. 
 

The IAF air warriors would march in a box formation of 12X12 nos to the marching tune rendered by IAF band consisting of 75 members.  Junior Warrant Officer Ashok Kumar would lead the band and would play marital tunes like 'Sound Barrier' while marching in front of the main dais receiving the Rashtriya Salute from President. 
 

The members of the contingent have been specially selected from various units located in different parts of the country. The air warriors would march 14 km from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort.
