Kerala State Transport rolls out buses to raise nature awareness

Lending a visual treat to the eyes, Kerala State Road Transport Corporation has launched Sabari buses to ply between Pamba and Chennai. Fifteen buses painted with graffiti images of tigers and Periyar Reserve forest are rolled out to spread environment awareness.

 

The buses which are popular as 'Anavandi' because it bears the elephant symbol could be now called as 'Kaduvavandi' which means Tiger vehicle. 

 


KSRTC blog say they have launched 15 such buses and 15 more are in the pipeline. Both non-AC and AC buses will conduct regular service from various places to Sabarimala during the pilgrimage season. 

 

The Sabari Express has pushback seats and free wi-fi for Ayappa devotees.
 

 


KSRTC officials say the attempt is to spread awareness among people about the need to protect eco-sensitive Periyar Tiger Reserve Forest and Messages encourage pilgrims not to use plastic bottles here.
