The much-awaited results of the Kerala  Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (SSLC) were announced on Wednesday morning. 

 The pass percentage this year is 96.59% with 4,57,654 candidates who appeared for the exams certified eligible for higher education. The pass rate is two percent less than last year. 
 The examination board had decided to do away with moderation this time. As many as 22,879 students for A-Plus grade in all subjects and 1,207 schools registered 100% pass.

Pathanamthitta district scored the highest pass percentage (99.04%) while Wayanad scored the lowest (92.3%). 

Save a Year (SAY) examinations will be held from 23 to 27 in  May, the Department of Education informed. 
Unlike the usual practice of the Education  Minister announcing the results, this time, the mantle of officially releasing the SSLC results fell on Chief Secretary P K Mohanty. With the model code of conduct in force, the Minister abstained from the job.
